New Biology and Medical Scholars Shine at Vivid's 4th Retreat, Highlighting Research Presentations and Bowling Fun

Vivid's fourth annual scientific retreat took place at the Kardinal Schulte Haus in Bergisch Gladbach on April 8th and 9th, 2024. Drawing over 30 participants from diverse backgrounds, including doctoral students in both natural sciences and medicine, project leaders, associated scientists, and doctoral candidates, this year marked a significant milestone. This time, it was mainly the new cohort of doctoral candidates who joined the Research Training Group at the late 2023 who presented their ongoning scientific projects and the focus of their research for the next three years.

Throughout the retreat the atmosphere was supportive and constructive as participants eagerly absorbed insights from one another and offered feedback on their peers' work. Witnessing such a diverse array of talented and engaged students collaborating to exchange knowledge and ideas was unquestionably inspiring.

As the first day concluded, the group gathered for dinner followed by an entertaining evening of bowling. This recreational activity provided a nice and easy opportunity for everyone to relax and build connections beyond the academic field.

The productive momentum carried into the second day of the retreat, with students continuing their research presentations and engaging in fruitful discussions. Clearly, the retreat fostered a sense of camaraderie and cooperation among attendees, as they collectively endeavored to elevate each other's work.
